Jascha Kessler

A former arts commissioner for Santa Monica, radio book critic, spoken arts vocal talent, and anthologish, Jascha Kessler is particularly well-known for his many translations of poetry and prose from Eastern European languages, in addition to his widely published short fictions. A professor at UCLA from 1961 until his recent retirement, he has received two Senior Fulbright fellowships, and has writtens plays and an operatic libretto.
